Let’s Light Up Dover for the Holidays!

Friday, October 10, 2025

Downtown Dover is about to shine a little brighter—and you can be a part of it!

The Dover City Lights Committee, in partnership with local nonprofit Communitively, has launched a brand-new initiative called Festive Fronts, and it’s all about bringing magic, joy, and sparkle to our beautiful city this holiday season.

A New Tradition Begins

As Dover upgrades its downtown trees and light poles, the community is stepping up in a big way to fill the gap and make downtown shine in a whole new way. The Festive Fronts program is kicking off this winter with big goals:

  • Decorating the community holiday tree at the Rotary Arts Pavilion

  • Stringing festive lights across downtown buildings, Joe B. Parks Garden, and Waldron Court

  • Adding seasonal art murals in building storefronts

  • Enhancing building fronts with professionally designed holiday décor

Together, these touches will create a warm, welcoming downtown that invites everyone to shop, stroll, and smile all season long.

How You Can Help

To bring this vision to life, the committee is raising $50,000 through community donations and local business sponsorships. Every dollar counts—and every light hung will be a reflection of the community spirit that makes Dover so special.

Bonus: On Tuesday, October 21st, you can eat good and do good—Otto Pizza in Dover is donating 10% of all dine-in and take-out orders that day to the campaign (excluding 3rd-party services like Grubhub).

Be a Part of the Sparkle

This isn’t just about holiday lights. It’s about pride of place. It’s about neighbors coming together to make downtown Dover a destination during the most magical time of year. When you donate to the Festive Fronts campaign, you’re not just giving money—you’re helping create memories, traditions, and a more vibrant community.

Let’s light up Dover—together!
